  9. HIDE-IT! is a small applet that allows you to hide windows, taking them out
  10. off the screen, off the taskbar and off the ALT-TAB chain. This way you can
  11. hide those windows that you want to keep open, but you don't need to monitor
  12. very often, e.g. (WFTPD, MS-Exchange, etc.).

  14. REQUIREMENTS
  15. ============
  16. A computer running Windows 95.
  17.  
  18. USAGE
  19. =====
  20. The first time HIDE-IT! runs will open a configuration dialog-box, once
  21. configured (see CONFIGURATION below) it will place itself as a small icon
  22. in the taskbar. You can access HIDE-IT! window double-clicking that icon.
  23. You can also right-click the same icon to show a pop-up menu with the
  24. available windows, selecting  any of will hide or restore it.

  26. INSTALLATION
  27. ============
  28. Just copy HIDEIT.EXE to to some directory of your choice and make a shortcut
  29. to it in your desktop.
  30.  
  31. CONFIGURATION
  32. =============
  33. The configuration dialog-box appears automatically the first time Hide-It runs,
  34. but you can also access it double-clicking the small icon and clicking
  35. the "Configure" button.
  36. Options:
  37. * Bypass start-up dialog box:
  38.     If you don't select this option Hide-it will show it's window on start-up,
  39.     this option is checked by default.
  40. * Hide automatically:
  41.     This section allows you to customize Hide-it's start-up behaviour.
  42.   - Previously hidden windows:
  43.       If you check this, Hide-it wil remember what windows was hidding when
  44.       it was closed last time, and will hide them again on start-up.
  45.   - Rules:
  46.       There are some programs that don't have always the same caption-bar,
  47.       for example, Exchange. Here you can define what windows you want to hide,
  48.       even if they have a variable caption.
  49.   - Time out:
  50.       Hide-it will stop trying to automatically hide windows after this
  51.       time-out.
